My New Horse!

This is me and my new horse, Addie. I named her from the book, "The Princess Adelina". (Her name is Adelina, but we call her Addie for short.) I bought her at the auction in Shipshewana and she is registered Quarter Horse and registered Palomino! She is only five so she still has a little more growing out to do. I just rode her today for the first time and she did fine! I can't wait to show her in 4-H next year! I was getting a little tall for the ponies so I decided to get a horse! It's Fair Time!

I can't believe that the fair is almost here! Tomorrow is the first day of the Porter County fair, ( the fair that we go to) and is also the first day of the dog show! We took the dogs to be groomed at 9 am this morning to get them ready for tomorrow.

I gave Haus a bath myself because I am not doing showmanship with him ( and let me tell you he did not like it!) but we took Blackbear and Shasta to get groomed because we are doing showmanship with them.

Baby Goats!

Our doe, Peaches, just had twin babies, a buck and a doe! The buck we are not keeping, but we name them anyway! Their names are, Chocolate and Milky Way (we call her Milky for short). Here are pictures of both the mother and the kids.

The black and brown one is Chocolate, and the cream one is Milky.

Weeding!

Now that we have most some of the planting done, the next step, WEEDING! I for one do not like weeding that much, but I don't mind it.
Here are pictures of some of the gardens:

The white things are hotcaps, and under the hotcaps are tomatoes and peppers. (The ones farthest away are the peppers.) Hotcaps protect the plant against the cold, so, you can plant vegetables earlier.

Blackbear and a Snake!

My mom was running down to our gardens, and she almost stepped on a Western Fox Snake! She told me to come down to where she was and sure enough, there was a pretty big, brown and black snake slithering on the ground! I went to get Zeke, (who is intrigued by snakes) and he came running out along with, R.J. and Savannah.
When we got to the snake, Zeke tried to pick it up! But of course mom didn't want him to.  Then who should come along but Blackbear, our big black dog! He didn't notice it at first, but when he accidentally stepped on the snake, it lunged toward him! He definitely saw it then!  After about 10 minutes of watching Blackbear bark at the snake and then in return it would lunge at him, Zeke,(being the brave ten-year old boy he is,) picked it up with a stick and Blackbear was trying to bite the snake of! Finally, he took a bite at it and shook it and then let go! He did that a few times until it died! One time it almost hit Zeke in the face!!!

Gardening!

About a month and a half ago my dad plowed 7, one-hundred by fifty foot gardens with his Farmall 806 tractor and five foot rototiller!
We have a lot of planting to do!

4-H

It's that time again! Zeke and I have already  started 4-H dog training! I am showing a new puppy this year, his name is Haus.
I am also sewing a horse western showmanship outfit for 4-H! I love to sew!
I am also showing goats and horses, making a movie, gardening and growing flowers for 4-H!
